Sent Back After the Round, Printed Without Editing

We ask for a line or two a month after the build, when the novelty has worn off and the club has been through some weather. These are what came back.

Long Game

Driver, Woods and the Top of the Bag

Wade told me before I swung what the shorter shaft was supposed to do, and then it did it. That is the part that stuck with me. Nobody was hunting for a lucky number, he called the shot and the chart agreed with him.

Ruben C. Upper Valley Driver block, 2025

I brought a three wood I had given up on. Turned out the leading edge was digging on our fairways in June and nothing about the loft was ever the issue. Different head, same shaft, and I use the club again.

Marisol T. Canutillo Fairway wood block, 2025

Moved here from Corpus and could not work out why my driver was running out of gas at the end of the flight. Ninety minutes here explained the altitude thing better than two years of guessing at it.

Hollis P. Fort Bliss Long game block, 2024
Scoring Length

Irons, Wedges and the Putter

The turf trace was the whole session for me. I could see the sole was landing behind the ball on almost every swing, which explained ten years of fat shots off tight lies. One lie adjustment and a length change and it mostly stopped.

Ernie V. Horizon City Iron set block, 2025

Coral spent as long asking about the sand in my home bunkers as she did about my swing. Ended up with less bounce than I have played my whole life and the club stopped skidding into the ball.

Priscilla N. Socorro Scoring block, 2026

I expected a putter fitting to be about feel and head shape. Instead we spent an hour on where the ball leaves the face and my start line got measurably straighter with the putter I walked in holding.

Dwayne M. Northeast El Paso Putter block, 2025

Three of my irons were a full degree off from each other. I had spent a season blaming myself for a gap that was in the clubs the entire time.

Alma R. Mission Valley Full bag audit, 2024

Second visit of the audit was where it clicked. They had a week to think about the first set of numbers and came back with a plan instead of a sales sheet.

Gil B. Westside El Paso Full bag audit, 2026

My 54 and my 58 were carrying within four yards of each other. Nobody had ever measured that. Regrind on one and the gap is real again.

Tomas E. San Elizario Wedge block, 2025

Sessions That Ended With Us Selling Nothing

These are the ones we are proudest of, so they get their own section rather than being buried among the builds.

Walked in ready to spend two thousand dollars on a new set. Walked out forty-five dollars lighter with my existing irons bent back to spec and a fresh set of grips. They talked me out of the sale with a straight face.

Kenneth O. Anthony, TX Iron block, 2024

They told me my problem was a swing problem and gave me the name of a teaching pro. Cost me a session fee to be told not to buy anything, and it was the best golf money I spent that year.

Sandra L. Sunland Park Single club block, 2025

Brought my son in expecting to buy a junior set. Beto cut down my old irons, reweighted them, and the kid has been playing them for two seasons.

How These Get Collected

A Month Later, Not the Same Afternoon

Everybody is happy walking out of a fitting. The mood in the parking lot is not evidence of anything, so we do not ask for a comment then. Instead the desk sends one short note about four weeks after a build is collected, once the club has been played in real weather on real ground.

We print what comes back, spelling and all, and we do not chase people who ignore the note. That means this page grows slowly and misses plenty of satisfied customers, which we prefer to the alternative.

If a session went badly we would rather hear it on the phone than read it online, and the thirty-day recheck exists precisely so there is somewhere to put that conversation.
Where They Come From

Home Courses Represented

  • Upper Valley and Canutillo municipal players
  • Westside and Mission Valley regulars
  • Fort Bliss families, usually mid-tour
  • Southern New Mexico, over the state line
  • Horizon City and the far east side

Roughly a fifth of the sessions we run are people who drove more than forty minutes to get here, which we do not take lightly.
