Hybrid Blocks: Filling the Gap Nobody Measures
This club exists to solve a specific arithmetic problem in your bag. If we have not measured the problem, we cannot know whether the club solves it.
Two Numbers Come Before Any Head Selection
Every hybrid fitting here begins with two measured carries: the longest iron you hit reliably, and the shortest wood you hit reliably. Both words matter. Reliable means the number you produce on an average swing, not the one you produced on the best swing of the session and have been quoting ever since.
The distance between those two numbers is the hole the hybrid is meant to plug. Sometimes it is forty yards and needs two clubs. Sometimes it is twelve yards and does not need a hybrid at all, and the customer walks out having discovered that the club they were about to buy would have duplicated a club already in the bag.

Iron-Style or Wood-Style, and Why It Is Not a Preference Question
Hybrids come in two broad shapes and they behave differently enough that choosing by looks is a genuine mistake.
Compact Head, Narrow Sole
Sits closer to a driving iron. Lower launch, less spin, more workability, and far less forgiveness on a strike toward the toe. Suits a player with a steeper delivery who wants the ball to run out and who already finds the middle of the face with a long iron.
These are also easier to hit from rough that grabs, because there is less surface area for the grass to catch.
Deeper Head, Wider Sole
Launches higher, holds a green better on descent, and forgives a strike low on the face far more readily. Suits a shallower delivery and anybody whose face chart on long irons shows a vertical spread of more than half an inch.
The trade is that it wants a cleaner lie and it is harder to keep flighted down in wind.
What Gets Set During the Block
Length and Lie
Hybrids are frequently sold at a length that matches neither the iron below nor the wood above. We set length to whatever produces a stable ground mark, then adjust lie so the sole sits flat through impact rather than on its toe.
Shaft Character
A hybrid built with a wood shaft and a hybrid built with an iron shaft feel like different clubs. We test both against your delivery rather than defaulting to whatever the manufacturer ships in the stock configuration.
Loft Spacing
If you carry two hybrids, the spacing between them has to respect that the longer one will run out more. Equal loft steps do not produce equal carry steps at this end of the bag.
Bring the Long Irons You Have Stopped Using
The clubs sitting unused at the back of the bag are the evidence we need. They tell us exactly where your comfortable range ends, which is the number this whole fitting turns on.
